"In service to One, In service to all. The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization. Founded by Father Michael J. McGivney, in 1882, it was named in honor of the explorer Christopher Columbus."
The Knights of Columbus Nevada Council # 978 was founded in 1905, the first Knights of Columbus council in the State of Nevada active in the Saint Thomas Aquinas Cathedral Parish, Diocese of Reno, the Reno community, and the State of Nevada.
The Knights provide the means by which Catholic men can get together in fellowship, learn more about their faith, reach out to help the Church, the clergy and their fellow parishioners; as well as help others in the community that may be in need. We are guided by our four core principles: Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism.
We host many fundraisers throughout the year to support seminarian education, local Catholic school scholarships, and the Cathedral.
If you'd like to be a part of an international organization of nearly 2 million Catholic men whose principal work involves helping others in need, we'd like to meet you and invite you to join us!
